Jannec, with a continuous commitment to quality and innovation in the beverage industry, is delighted to announce its new partnership with Alexakis Winery, one of the leading wine producers in Crete.
Crafting Wine from the Cretan Land
Alexakis Winery, with years of experience and deep knowledge of Cretan winemaking, showcases the island’s rich terroir through labels that embody the authenticity and dynamism of Greek viticulture. The winery’s vineyards are located in carefully selected areas of Crete, featuring diverse altitudes, soils, and microclimates—elements that give the wines their unique character.
The Varieties
Alexakis Winery focuses on highlighting indigenous grape varieties, cultivated and vinified with respect for tradition while incorporating modern winemaking techniques:
- Vidiano: Crete’s rising white variety, known for its full body, ripe fruit aromas, and balanced acidity. It is produced through controlled fermentation and, in some cases, aged in oak barrels for added complexity.
- Dafni: A rare white variety with an aromatic profile reminiscent of bay leaf, fragrant herbs, and white flowers. It is vinified with careful extraction to highlight its aromas and freshness.
- Kotsifali: A red variety with intense aromatic complexity, often blended with Mandilaria or Syrah to produce robust, well-balanced red wines. Barrel aging enhances its spicy and fruity characteristics.
- Liatiko: A red variety with an elegant profile, capable of producing both dry and sweet wines. It is distinguished by aromas of dried fruits, spices, and delicate tannins.
A Partnership with Vision
Through this partnership, JANNEC enriches its portfolio with wines that represent the modern expression of Cretan vineyards. From the careful selection of grapes to winemaking and aging, every stage of production is carried out with the goal of highlighting the quality and uniqueness of each variety.
