It was in 1896, when Efstratios Samaras, relocated and established his distillery from Prusa in Asia Minor to Papados in Gera. Since then, aromas and sensations conquered Mytilene. An excellent connoisseur of the art of distillation, he produced a unique quality ouzo, which soon gained loyal friends. Today, the fourth generation of distillers continues with respect to the family tradition and faithful to the principles and values of its founder, the production of the now famous Mytilene Samaras Ouzo.
