Over a hundred years ago, at the beginning of the 20th century, the Kakoulidis family arrived for the first time in Pieria, in the village of Sfendami. They were vine growers and had been making their own wine for centuries before, perhaps even millennia, in what is now Turkey, where Greeks have lived since the time of Zeus and the twelve gods.
